LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has paid glowing tributes to the 21 Kashmiri Muslims who were martyred one by one by the oppressive forces of Dogra regime for reciting Azan on July 13, 1931.
In a message, the chief minister said that the then Dogra regime exhibited the worst kind of barbarity by martyring the Muezzins, adding that the oppressed Kashmiris were still facing the worst form of cruelties in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) even after the fall of Dogra regime decades ago.
“The people, as well as the Pakistani government, stand by the Kashmiris on this Kashmir Martyrs Day,” the CM stated. “Kashmiris have a long history of displaying valorous struggle and against Indian ruthlessness as India has failed to extinguish the spirit of freedom in the hearts of the Kashmiris,” he added.
“The unarmed people are rekindling the spirit of freedom with their toil and blood,” he said. “In fact, Indian atrocities have further ignited the passion for freedom in the hearts of Kashmiris and Pakistan pays rich tributes to the heroic struggle of Kashmiris on this day,” concluded the CM.
Similarly, Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday paid rich tributes to the valour and bravery of Kashmiris on Kashmir Martyrs Day who rendered their lives in struggle against the Indian oppression and brutality.
Talking to the media here, she regretted that the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) were living in a hell. She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had emerged as a strong ambassador of the rights of oppressed Kashmiris by raising a voice at every global forum for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The CM’s advisor expressed her displeasure over, ‘what she said’, irresponsible statements by the opposition leaders during the election campaign which was damaging the Kashmir cause. She said the nation knew that they were the same leaders who did nothing to redress Kashmir issue and never raised voice in favour of Kashmiris.
“They also ignored Kashmir issue and remained aloof to the sufferings and miseries of the oppressed Kashmiris in the IIOJK,” she said.
“The opposition should learn to counter Modi’s tactics in the IIOJK because the Kashmir issue belongs to the whole of Pakistan,” she said and added the PML-N was negating Pakistan’s longstanding stance over Kashmir by criticising the state institutions.
