Health minister wants officers to meet deadlines set for projects completion

LAHORE – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid Tuesday directed the officials concerned to meet the deadlines set for the completion of ongoing development projects in a review meeting at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SH) Department. The health minister said: “Under the Prime Minister Health Initiative, work on upgradation of public sector hospitals is underway in eight districts. The work on DHQ Multan and THQ Taunsa is underway and Secretary Health South Ajmal Bhatti is personally monitoring the activities. The government is setting up 13 trauma centers and overall, these centers are being set up in far flung areas. As many as 26 existing trauma centers are being upgraded. Better facilities will be available after revamping of these hospitals.” She said that requisition for 2,500 vacant positions have been sent to Punjab Public Service Commission and the department has been directed to dispose of the pension cases as early as possible.
